Centered Around God's Design for Healthy Families
Shalom Healthy Homeschool is dedicated to empowering families through holistic, faith-based education. Our mission is to provide comprehensive homeschool curriculums that integrate biblical principles with modern health practices, fostering physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. We aim to nurture a generation of individuals who embrace God's design for health, inspiring them to lead lives of purpose, vitality, and harmony.
Our vision is to be the leading provider of Christian homeschool curriculums that champion a holistic approach to health. We envision a world where families are equipped with the knowledge and tools to live healthfully according to God's plan, creating communities that flourish in body, mind, and spirit. By cultivating a deep understanding of divine health principles, we aspire to see every home become a sanctuary of wellness and faith.
1. Faith-Centered Education: We believe that true health stems from a connection with God. Our curricula and courses are designed to integrate Biblical teachings with practical health knowledge, fostering a deeper connection with the Creator.
2. Holistic Health: We promote a comprehensive approach to well-being that encompasses physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Our programs are tailored to address the whole person, aligning with God’s design for a balanced life.
3. Family Empowerment: We aim to strengthen families by providing them with the resources and support they need to educate their children effectively at home. We believe that parents are the primary educators and should be equipped to lead their families in health and faith. We believe that generational health and optimal aging starts at home.
4. Integrity and Excellence: We are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and excellence in all our educational materials and interactions. We strive to deliver quality content that is both accurate and inspiring.
5. Community and Support: We value the power of community and seek to create a supportive network for homeschooling families. Through collaboration and encouragement, we aim to build a strong community that uplifts and nurtures one another.
6. Stewardship: We believe in being responsible stewards of the bodies and resources God has entrusted to us. Our curricula and courses emphasize practices that honor God’s creation, promoting sustainable and healthy living habits.
7. Lifelong Learning: We encourage a continuous pursuit of knowledge and personal growth. Our curricula and courses are designed not just for children but also to inspire parents to grow alongside their children in understanding health from a biblical perspective.
It is our belief here at Shalom Healthy Home that traditional topics (commonly taught in Public schools, specifically) such as sex education, abuse, neglect, assault, self-defense and others that are highly personal are topics that should be taught within each individual family, within each individualized context. Each family has different communication styles and levels for such sensitive topics. SHH does not teach these items, though the belief continues to exist that we are each God's person, designed in His image, and to be protected and stewarded throughout life, and for eternity with God. If you have questions about resources on these topics, please find professionals or resources that are highly regarded in these topic areas.
Hi! I'm Cody! I am a physical therapist of 20 years, a university healthcare professor, a certified functional medicine practitioner, a husband and father of five homeschool kiddos. We believe that learning should begin in the home, and that God has a design for how and what we learn. In my experience, most children and families understand very little about health, the human body, how healthcare works (outside of family insurance coverage) and how to point their children toward careers in healthcare where they can thrive both financially, and in practice.
I created Shalom Healthy Home to help families return to God's design and purpose; to be fully connected with Him and with each other. To put the human design into the context of connection and unity, because traditional education and the practice in US healthcare divides the person of God into so many segments and specialties, we often feel incapable of navigating the journey ourselves. We are NOT incapable!
Hopefully, this homeschool curriculum, "Health, the Human Body and Healthcare" will bless your family, provide you and your child learning opportunities to grow in how to determine your own "health" journey, while fostering discipleship as we all look at His design in the light of full-connectedness and wholeness.
